Digital Astrophotography Group (HKAS)
| We are a group of amateur astronomers interested in astrophotography. In the past, we have used photographic film to record the splendors of the sky. With the lowered price of digital imaging instruments and excellent results obtained by fellow amateurs all over the world. We decided to go into the field of digital imaging. Some of us will be using dedicated CCD imagers such as the StarLight Express cameras and SBIG cameras. Others will explore the world of digital astrophotography with cheaper alternatives such as webcams, consumer digital cameras, CCTVs and videocams. We are also working on digitized images obtained by scanning our film images. We have posted some of our first trials on this web site. Most of the images are those of the sun, moon and planets. We are going to image deep sky objects (DSOs) as the weather becomes better. |
