The Programme MSc in Musculoskeletal Medicine, Rehabilitation and Geriatric Orthopaedics has received the Senate's final approval in late March 2017.

Rationale & Features:

Rationale:
Disorders of the musculoskeletal system are becoming more common. The Bone and Joint Decade, a multi-disciplinary global campaign, has highlighted and forewarned a rising incidence of injury or aging related musculoskeletal disorders. This is particularly true for injuries sustained at work, and also from recreational activities and sports. The impact of Osteoporosis and muscle dysfunctional problems with aging is also imminent. These disorders are also on the rise in Hong Kong. It is timely for health care professionals to brace themselves with up-to-date information and skills in the management of these disorders.

Features:
The programme provides an inter-disciplinary and clinical platform to enable health-care professionals from different backgrounds to gain a holistic view of current developments in musculoskeletal medicine and rehabilitation and to have practical training in rehabilitation skills either in their focused areas of interest or to broaden themselves into different aspects of rehabilitation.
