| In 1996, the Cathay Pacific Wheelchair Bank was established to cope with the tremendous demand of seating and positioning systems from children with neuromuscular diseases. This project, funded by Cathay Pacific Airways, set up a wheelchair pool with special seating systems for various needs of the children. The wheelchairs and seating systems are recirculated if the wheelchair is no longer suitable for the children's needs.
