Re: Application for attending the Croucher Summer Course: "Stem Cells Biology and Regenerative Medicine”, 25-29 June 2016, Hong Kong, SAR, PR China

This conference, sponsored by the Croucher Foundation and organized by Faculty of Medicine, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, aims at educating and inspiring a group of 30-35 (maximal) selected, talented young researchers (postgraduate students and young faculty members) in the field of stem cell biology and regenerative medicine from Hong Kong, mainland China and beyond the region.

Over the 5-day course, participants will have a unique experience to learn from the pioneers (this year we have 7 renowned top scientists in the field of stem cells biology and regenerative medicine) and practice during the laboratory demonstration sessions as well as presentation sections by the participants (for details please see attached speaker's profiles and meeting program). There will be social activities to allow interaction and friendship building for the course participants.  We believe that these experiences will provide the young scientists new insights into their future research work.  

We are thankful to Croucher Foundation for their generous support of this summer course, in that we are able to offer 30-35 places for this summer course.  The eligibility for the applicants: (1) 3rd year undergraduate students in relevant discipline; (2) Master students or PhD students in relevant discipline; (3) Young researcher (RA) or postdoctoral RA within 3 years of graduation.  Interested applicants must file the application using the attached template of CSC2016 application form following the instructions and send the application form back to zhangjf06@gmail.com

before 15 May 2016 or ASAP therefore (no later than 30 May 2016).  Since the places are limited and they are offered as first come first serve basis.  

The fee for the CSC2106 is HK$3,000 that includes shared accommodation (two people to share) for 6 nights in a 4-star hotel, dinning for 5 days, social activities, and all course materials worth of HK$6,000.  Please note that for local course attendants, even if there is no accommodation is needed, the course fee has to be paid in full.  

The course organizer will offer limited spaces for CSC2016 scholarship that is to waive the summer course registration fee of HK$3,000.  For the students who have financial difficulties, we can also offer a limited number of additional traveling grants, for which we need good justification.
