Our Course:

The MSc in Musculoskeletal Medicine, Rehabilitation and Geriatric Orthopaedics (MSc MRGO) is designed to meet the needs of increasing training and education demand of the health care professionals in the field of rehabilitation, musculoskeletal medicine and geriatric orthopaedics in line with the projected ageing population and associated announced major development strategy of the Hospital Authority and SAR Government Health Care expansion plan in Hong Kong.

This consolidated MSc programme is combined from our previous programme, known as the MSc in Musculoskeletal Medicine and Rehabilitation and MSc in Geriatric Orthopaedics, since 2017.

New course structure since 2024/25

In order to increase the flexibility of module selection for favorable contents, the Streaming policy is phasing-out starting from the 2024/25 admission. Students admitted now can select the elective courses without being boundary to selecting the stream of studies. (click the chart below to see the details)

Target Students:

This programme is to provide advanced academic training to professionals who are working closely with musculoskeletal disorders and/or with geriatric orthopaedic issues, such as medical doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and other allied healthcare professionals, researchers and community practitioners.

 

Admission timelines:

The application platform opens on early September in the Graduate School Office website [here]. The application deadline for our programme will be 30 April (full time) and 31 May (part time)

Our programme will gather the applications and review the supporting documents from time to time. Usually we will nominate the applications for offer in late January/early February; late March/early April; and end of May. We might arrange interview with applicants if necessary.


Financial Support:

We are now applying for "Hong Kong Future Talents Scholarship Scheme for Advanced Studies". More information will be released.

We are on the list of eligible programmes of the “Targeted Taught Postgraduate Programmes Fellowships Scheme” (TTPPFS) previously in 2021/22, 2022/23, 2023/24 & 2024/25 admission year.

 

Student Projects:
