Our Course:

The MSc in Musculoskeletal Medicine, Rehabilitation, and Geriatric Orthopaedics (MSc MRGO) is designed to address the growing demand for training and education among healthcare professionals in the fields of rehabilitation, musculoskeletal medicine, and geriatric orthopaedics. This initiative aligns with the projected ageing population and the major development strategies announced by the Hospital Authority and the SAR Government's healthcare expansion plan in Hong Kong.

This consolidated MSc program combines our previous offerings: the MSc in Musculoskeletal Medicine and Rehabilitation and the MSc in Geriatric Orthopaedics, both established in 2017.

New course structure since 2024/25

To enhance flexibility in module selection, the Streaming Policy will be phased out starting with the 2024/25 admissions. Students admitted from now on will have the freedom to select elective courses without being restricted to a specific stream of study.(click the chart below to see the details)

Target Students:

This program aims to provide advanced academic training for professionals working closely with musculoskeletal disorders and geriatric orthopedic issues. Participants may include medical doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, other allied healthcare professionals, researchers, and community practitioners.

Admission timelines:

The application platform opens on early September in the Graduate School Office website [here]. The application deadline for our programme will be 30 April (full time) and 31 May (part time)

Our programme will periodically gather applications and review the supporting documents. Typically, we will nominate candidates for offers in late January/early February, late March/early April, and at the end of May. If necessary, we may arrange interviews with applicants.

Gov_logoFinancial Support:

We are now applying for "Hong Kong Future Talents Scholarship Scheme for Advanced Studies". More information will be released.
