BIOGRAPHY
Professor Zhang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics & Traumatology at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). He received his PhD from CUHK and completed postdoctoral training in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Stanford University.
Professor Zhang’s research focuses on the regeneration and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal disorders, including fragility fractures, large bone defects, and muscle and bone deterioration associated with aging or environmental stressors. His work integrates cell-based therapies, immunomodulation, tissue engineering, and biophysical interventions. He is deeply committed to identifying emerging risk factors through a multidisciplinary lens and developing novel therapeutic and rehabilitation strategies for musculoskeletal conditions.
Professor Zhang has authored over 70 peer-reviewed publications, and his research has been featured at numerous international conferences, earning recognition through invited talks, selections for new investigator awards, and podium spotlight sessions. He also serves as a guest editor and reviewer for several leading international journals.
